LCurrently, there are a variety of mortgage programs available to you. While no one can accurately predict future interest rate moves, this situation can’t go on forever. While you may be used to a fixed rate long term loan, there are other loan products available including indexed loans whose rate moves with a widely published index, like the 1 year treasury rate or the 6 month London Interbank Offering Rate (LIBOR) and intermediate loans which carry a fixed rate for a 3, 5, 7 or 10 years and then adjust to an indexed rate. In addition, loans can be structured so that you only pay interest and do not escrow your taxes and insurance.
