LONG COVE CLUB: A Golf Digest Top 100 Course

[View Long Cove Club Master Plan]

Situated centrally in Hilton Head Island's southern hub and well insulated by a deep subtropical forest, Long Cove Club imparts the impression of respect for nature and a deep value of privacy. The members here love the convenience to the beach and the excellent restaurants and shopping that is characteristic of this hub of Island life.

The centerpiece of this community is the highly respected Pete Dye championship course. Listed repeatedly among the Top 100 Courses in America by Golf Digest Magazine, it has often been written that it is so elegantly designed from the players perspective it is always different every time you play it. While it is "shot makers" course it is ultimately very fair and an entertaining challenge for all levels of player. The closing holes on the first nine are as good a set of holes as you will see anywhere.

The spacious clubhouse offers excellent areas for entertaining and a classic "19th hole" grill room overlooking the approaches and greens for the finishing holes. Nearby is an extensive Racquet Club facility with full staff instruction, a well-stocked pro shop and one of the more active tennis clubs in the area. And the well-used pool area here is ensconced in lush landscaping.

Partially bordering Broad Creek, an offshoot of the Intracoastal Waterway, Long Cove Club offers owners a large 70-slip community dock with a storage area for the increasingly popular sport of kayaking. Members enjoy terrific fishing from the dock as well as in the 70 acres of professionally managed lagoons.

Two things conspire to create a lush, intense Lowcountry setting for each home: 90% of the sites enjoy deep water, golf or lagoon views and the exacting landscaping covenants designed to blend in with the Lowcountry maritime forest.
