BERKELEY HALL: Two Fazio "Core" Courses
[View Berkeley Hall Master Plan]
The sense of arrival at Berkeley Hall is a "wow" with one of the most extensive gardens in the area enhanced by an infinity-edged reflecting pool which directs your gaze over Lake Berkeley to the fairways beyond.
Life at Berkeley Hall revolves around the Berkeley Hall Village which is anchored on one end by the magnificent Jeffersonian-style clubhouse (with 7 restaurants) and on the other end by the Spa and Fitness Center which includes indoor and outdoor pools, spa treatment rooms, state-of-the-art fitness center, tennis complex, playground, café and more.
Emanating from the Village are two distinctively designed championship golf "core" golf courses by Tom Fazio. "Core" simply means the courses hearken back to an older more traditional plan whereby the courses were built with no interior streets and homes. Thus all fairway-view homes are on the outside perimeter looking over sometimes as many as seven fairways. These courses clearly pay homage to earlier American classics like Merion, Winged Foot and Seminole.
The Golf Learning Center is one of only two in the area (the other at Belfair). The 30-acre facility features a Learning Center building which houses four climate controlled hitting bays plus a computerized video swing analyzer bay.
A modest drive to the resort areas of Hilton Head Island, Berkeley Hall is on the Mainland convenient to rapidly expanding shopping areas replete with restaurants, stores and entertainment.
Berkeley Hall is introducing the Carolina Lifestyle Homes, which are characterized by a screened atrium that usually contains an attractive water feature: pool, spa, fountain, etc.
Berkeley Hall also has over one mile of Okatie River frontage accented by a "River Park", a community boat dock with picnic areas and a crabbing and fishing pier.
