BELFAIR: Two Fazio Masterpieces
Belfair is situated on the Mainland on the site of an anti-bellum plantation that is, in fact, it's namesake. While all evidence of the original structures is gone one enters Belfair through a majestic, moss draped "Avenue of Oaks" reminiscent of the most romantic eras of the old South.
Belfair has two Fazio designed golf courses each very distinct from the other. The West Course is a "parklands" design with copious tree cover and dramatic sculpting of the terrain. The East course is reminiscent of the classic "links" design with windswept fairways, broad open views and substantial fresh-water lakes and salt-water sloughs. Golf Week Magazine ranked Belfair's courses as the best 36-hole private club in the Eastern United States.
Also a part of the golf story, Belfair has the award-winning Jim Ferree Golf Learning Center with over 28 acres devoted to the practice of nearly every conceivable shot in golf. The unique Learning Center building houses the computerized video swing analyzer hitting room and a series of enclosed driving suites available for practice during inclement weather.

The extensive clubhouse emulates the architecture of nearby Charleston. Plenty of well designed space for everything from a major event to quick a supper is at the member's disposal. Belfair also has one of the area's finest private sports and fitness centers which also includes an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, tennis courts, playground, soccer field and more.
A benefit unique to Belfair is Belfair Towne Village with restaurants, stores, offices and a state-of-the-art Kroger. The Village is directly accessible from Belfair through a second security gate by cart, car or bicycle.
For exercise or nature lovers there are bike and jogging trails with one that affords access to Hidden Lake, a large fresh water sanctuary for all manner of Lowcountry fish and bird life.
